The Old Firm rivalry is often a topic of hot discussion. A game between two of football’s fiercest enemies, picking between Celtic and Rangers is a simple task for those who simply have no choice but to follow the trend of family choices, but that hasn’t stopped others from having their say – even in WWE.
Whilst it’s as easy as 1,2,3 in the wrestling industry, it’s not quite that simple between Scotland’s biggest rivals. John Cena previously spoke about putting Celtic “front of his list” simply because of his local basketball team, the Boston Celtics. Whether he’d go as far as handing out some Attitude Adjustments at Ibrox feels unlikely, however.
WWE Superstars are also often seen using football to poke fun at live UK crowds. Just recently, Liverpool fan JD McDonagh was seen gloating in an Alexander Isak shirt in front of a disgruntled Newcastle audience. Santino Marella, meanwhile, infamously took six attempts, six shirts and six teams before getting the crowd onside with an England shirt several years ago.
There are still some lifelong football fans within the squared circle, however, and one WWE Superstar just revealed the bizarre way that he chose between Celtic and Rangers.
Drew McIntyre reveals how he chose between Celtic and Rangers
Having his say, Drew McIntyre revealed how he chose between Celtic and Rangers. The towering Scot and former WWE Champion is one of the biggest football fans in WWE and previously spoke about how he was led towards one of his passions.
With McIntyre not shy with his support for Rangers and Cena keen on the Celtic idea, it’s fair to say that we’ve stumbled on one more way to spice up the Old Firm derby. Anyone got a referee?
