According to reports, Everton will battle Southampton for Middlesbrough’s Ben Gibson this summer, but fans can’t decide on a move for the Englishman.
The Bristol Post claim Everton and Southampton are “keen” on a move for Ben Gibson, after Middlesbrough failed to earn promotion to the Premier League.
Tony Pulis’ Boro were beaten in the playoffs by Aston Villa, and the Riversiders have reportedly slapped a £25m price tag on the defender.
Gibson, who turned 25 this year, missed just one Championship game for Boro this season, so his fitness is certainly a selling point.

The Toffees signed Michael Keane from Burnley for a similar fee last summer, and one would have to think Gibson will be a replacement for Ashley Williams, who fans are desperate to get rid of after a poor season.
Keane and Gibson would be a formidable partnership in defence, as the pair averaged 6.9 and 6.0 clearances per game respectively this season, but there would certainly be concerns over their ball playing ability.
Fans are split on the links, with some praising the Boro centre back, while others hope for bigger and better things.
