The much-anticipated game between City and Pep Guardiola's former club at the Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida, was delayed by one hour and 20 minutes after a weather warning was issued. 'Due to inclement weather, the event has been temporarily delayed,' said a message on the stadium's big screen around an hour before the match was due to kick off.

City's first game of the USA tour, the 4-3 defeat by Celtic, was also affected by adverse weather. Supporters had to evacuate the Kenan Stadium in Chapel Hill after a weather warning was issued although the conditions were calmer ahead of kick off and there was no delay to the match.

City are no strangers to having pre-season games disrupted by bad weather. Their 2022 game with Bayern Munich at Lambeau Field was paused due to an electric storm. Their fixture against Atletico Madrid during last year's tour of Asia was postponed by 45 minutes due to torrential rain in Seoul.
