Leeds went back to the top of the Championship table on Sunday after coming from behind to beat Wigan 2-1 on Sunday, but the three points were certainly not handed on a silver platter to Marcelo Bielsa’s side.
Wigan’s on loan Chelsea full-back Reece James put the home side ahead after just six minutes with a well-placed free-kick, before Pablo Hernandez turned in Mateusz Klich’s pull-back to level the scores three minutes later.
Bielsa’s side were then frustrated by Wigan until the first minute of the second-half when goalkeeper Christian Walton’s error allowed Kemar Roofe to tap-in from close range – the goal which would eventually prove to be the winner.
Next up for Leeds is a trip to high-flying West Brom, who have suffered a slight dip in form recently. One of the key battles will be in central midfield where the Baggies often lack legs, so a midfield two of Mateusz Klich and Chelsea loanee Lewis Baker could be the best option for Bielsa, dropping 27-year-old Adam Forshaw to the bench.
