Former Liverpool star Dejan Lovren could play against Manchester United in the Europa League this season as he nears a move to PAOK in Greece.

Per Fabrizio Romano, Greek side PAOK are closing in on a deal to sign Lovren from Lyon. The former Liverpool star has already agreed terms with the club and final details are now being clarified. PAOK are looking to strengthen ahead of a season in Europe.

PAOK will play United as part of the Europa League's group phase. The two sides will play each other on November 7 at Old Trafford. Lovren went head-to-head with United on 11 occasions during his time with Liverpool, of which the Reds won just two. During his time with the Anfield club, the 35-year-old won the Champions League and the Premier League.

Lovren has not played for Lyon this season but made 11 appearances in all competitions last season. His last competitive outing for the club came in January against Stade Rennais.
