N’Golo Kante has enjoyed an excellent season with Chelsea and the Frenchman is making strides to become the first player to win consecutive Premier League titles with different sides, having won the league with Leicester City last season.He may not be the headline maker for those teams, with Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez regularly grabbing the plaudits for Leicester whilst Diego Costa and Eden Hazard excel for Chelsea, but there is no denying the importance of Kante to both sides.One remarkable statistic has shown just how important Kante has been, as he’s won more tackles and interceptions in the last three Premier League seasons than anyone else.

Certainly impressive, but perhaps not surprising to those that have watched him play, but the stand-out fact from these statistics is shown by the fact that Kante has only been in English football for two of those previous three campaigns.

That means there is plenty of other players who have had a year on Kante but have still been unable to claim top-spot in these rankings- and we haven’t even got to the end of the season.
