The Brazilian shot-stopper has not featured for Liverpool since his mix-up with Virgin van Dijk cost the Reds in their game away at their title rivals Arsenal. Since that defeat, Alisson has been absent through illness and a subsequent hamstring injury. He is widely regarded as one of the best goalkeepers in the world, but his deputy Caoimhin Kelleher has played admirably to ensure the absence is not felt as dearly.

Speaking on Alisson's potential return, Klopp quashed hopes that he would be back soon. The Liverpool boss said: “There is no real timescale on it, but it is a proper muscle injury. It is not a short one. It is a rather serious one, but not a season-ending injury.”
THE BIGGER PICTURE
Kelleher can expect to remain in between the sticks for Liverpool for a while longer. The Republic of Ireland international has struggled for minutes in the Premier League, making just 10 appearances throughout his career. Now no longer limited to just cup appearances, Kelleher has seized his chance and earned his place in a run of games.
